"With EconWise, a new mobile publications app, the St. Louis Fed continues its long history of publishing information on economic concepts, helping users to understand current issues and even make better decisions with their personal finances. Now users have "anywhere access" to the Fed's unbiased content, expert research, and down-to-earth commentary in the fields of macroeconomics, microeconomics, monetary policy, banking, finance, and personal finance.

The free app can be used to browse the most recent publications, and filter by publication name or by level of expertise. The available materials range from the most accessible to the most technical. Users can read content immediately, save it for later, share their favorites by email or by posting directly to Twitter or Facebook accounts. About the presenter:

Dan Keegan earned an Economics degree from Marquette University. He started out in the options business in 1978 and worked his way up in the Chicago tradition, including 20+ years as an independent market maker on the floor of the CBOE. He is a founder and current President of the Chicago Floor Traders Alumni Association and a frequent contributor to Futures Magazine and Options News Network.

The library is pleased to present a workshop on NetAdvantage, a database available for patrons with a Barrington Area Library card. Dan Sovocool, the S&P Capital IQ repesentative for Illinois, has nearly twenty years experience on Wall Street. He will introduce NetAdvantage and how it may help you:

- make better investment and business decisions

- understand business, personal finance, and economic maters more effectively

- assist in preparing for job inteviews as well as developing business plans.

This session is intended to help everyone understand NetAdvantage; questions will be encouraged. Limited number of laptops available for hands-on learning, or bring your own and connect to the library's wi-fi.
