New business resource: FINTEL

November 25, 2013 - The Barrington Area Library now has access to FINTEL databases - Industry Metrics and Business Scorecard!

FINTEL Industry Metrics provide 1 year and 4 year industry benchmark reports. These help business owners and managers understand how their business performs in comparison to peers, and enables them to keep their finger on the pulse of their industry. The Industry Metrics Reports provide powerful and unique insights into over 2,500 industries, searchable by either NAICS (North American Industrial Classification System) or SIC (Standard Industrial Classification) codes. FINTEL users can select national benchmarks or focus on a specific state or even county, as well as define the size of the companies for building the report to ensure "apple-to-apple" comparisons. Reports can be customized using advanced segmentation criteria such as age of firm, ownership type, and more. FINTEL maintains the largest database of industry information in North America, with financial data from over 1 million mostly privately held companies powering their tools. Whether researching the industry of a client or investment target, or investigating best practices of financial management among industry peers, FINTEL Industry Metrics offer a wealth of information to fit a wide range of research needs.

The FINTEL Business Scorecard takes about 5 minutes to complete, and allows businesses to compare performance with industry peers and competitors in terms of liquidity, profitability, efficiency, and growth. FINTEL guarantees confidentiality and data security.
