General Information
The Primera LX610 sticker printer is capable of printing and cutting stickers. There are two ways you can print out stickers - custom stickers, or printing on a pre-cut, pre-dimensioned shape. Cost is based on which sticker type you choose. Pre-cut stickers are $.10 per sticker and the continuous roll is $.25 per linear inch (e.g. a 4.25" x 1" sticker would comes $.25).
The sticker printer can be reserved by appointment or used in Library programs. If you have questions about materials, please contact Digital Services.
We recommend you view our MakerLab Essentials: Laser Cutting tutorials before you begin your project. Staff are available to help by appointment or during Library programs.

Design software: Inkscape, Adobe Illustrator, or other vector graphics programs. PTCreate is required to send to the printer.
Accepted File Formats: .svg allows for the most flexibility for custom cut stickers, but .jpg, .png and other image files also work well.
Design
You can design in a variety of applications and we recommend you choose the software you are most familiar with. As a starting point, we suggest Inkscape because it is free for Mac and PC and we use it for other equipment in MakerLab. Other popular software that will work is Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva.
Setting up a document will depend on what type of sticker best fits your project. Generally speaking, there are two types of stickers:
Pre-cut shape
We currently have 4 x 3" pre-cut square stickers. These are great for labels on products as well as getting started because they are less expensive. One drawback is you are not able to use the cutting tool to create custom outlines using the pre-cut shapes.
Set up your document to be a 4" x 3" square.
Cost: $.10 per sticker
Continuous roll
The continuous roll allows you to print and cut your sticker to unique shapes. As an example, if you wanted a hexagonal sticker, you could design your logo and then make a hexagonal stroke and the cutter will make the shape using the built-in plotter cutter. These stickers are more expensive, but offer more flexibility.
Set up your document to be 4.25" wide. Your length will be determined by how many shapes you have and their sizes, and there is virtually no limit as the continuous roll is 125'.
Cost: $.25 per linear inch. For example, a 4.25" wide sticker x 1" vertical is $.25. A 4.25" x 2" is $.50.
Artwork
Designing your own artwork is a great option, but when getting started, it is nice to learn about the printer by using pre-designed files. Below are a few sites that offer options for free artwork.
