William John Weirich, Jr. was born September 17, 1924 to William and Marjorie Wade Weirich.
As soon as he graduated from Barrington High School, Weirich entered service for World War II in the U.S. Army, enlisting on June 14, 1943. He was awarded a Purple Heart for being twice wounded in France with 9th Army. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant November 1, 1945.
Weirich was married to Kathryn M. Werner; they raised one child in Wauconda.
He followed his father into the printing business, working for a newspaper printer, and in customer service for Black Dot Graphics of Crystal Lake.
SGT William Weirich died in Libertyville on July 9, 1994, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
