Walter Louis Salnick was born August 16, 1922 in Oconto, Wisconsin to William and Pauline Sutrick Salnik.
A Veteran of World War II, Salnick enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps on November 20, 1922, and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on February 10, 1946.
On August 29, 1949, he married Janet Digiralamor in Cook County; they raised two children in Barrington.
Salnick worked as a traffic manager for CBS in Chicago for 18 years, and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
SGT Walter Salnick died March 7, 1995 in Barrington, and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
