Thomas Edward Philbin was born January 18, 1927 in Chicago to Thomas and Evelyn Hurley Philbin.
Philbin was activated for duty in the U.S. Army on April 16, 1945, and was honorably discharged on December 14, 1946 as a Private First Class.
On December 29, 1949, he married Mary J. Veath; they raised three children in the northwest suburbs.
Philbin was an insurance agent, and a member of Barrington VFW Post #7006.
PFC Thomas Philbin died March 23, 2001 in Cary, and is buried with his wife at Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
