Robert Kenneth Clark was born August 25, 1916 in Bagley, Iowa to Guy and Vera Field Clark.
Clark grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated from Northwestern University in 1939, where he was President of Phi Kappa Alpha and a member of the debate team.
After receiving his degree, he embarked on a successful career in the life insurance business, until he was called to serve in World War II. He enlisted March 26, 1941, and served as a U.S. Army paratrooper until his honorable discharge at the rank of Captain four years later.
In April, 1942, Clark married Alma Fay Enlow in San Francisco; they raised two children in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Later in life, he married Janet Fortney Wamberg.
Professionally, Clark sold and brokered life insurance for New England Mutual Life in Cleveland for more than 20 years. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter and a perennial member of the Million Dollar Round Table. In 1969, he formed the Robert K. Clark Organization, Inc, specializing in executive compensation, retirement, and disability plans, and he retired as Chairman of the Clark/Bardes Insurance Company.
CAPT Robert Clark died September 3, 1988 in Chicago, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
