James Jacob Seidel was born May 18, 1927, in Blue Island, to James and Bertha Sheridan Seidel.

Seidel entered military service for World War II in the U.S. Navy on May 9, 1944; he was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on July 27, 1946.

On August 7, 1948, he married Shirley A. Letchford in Chicago; they raised four children.

Seidel was a machinist for Thomas Engineering in Hoffman Estates. He was a member of Ridgefield Presbyterian Church, and a resident of Fox River Grove.

S1 James Seidel died Jan 19, 1987 in Woodstock, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
