PVT Robert W. Gartzke

Robert William Gartzke was born July 31, 1932 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, to Graham and Adella Ziervogel Gartzke.
Following his high school graduation, he was a mink rancher.
On November 8, 1952, Gartzke married Marion Drays in Oconomowoc; they raised five children.
Gartzke entered military service for the Korean War on January 26, 1953, and served at Fort Richardson in Alaska. He was honorably discharged as a Private from the U.S. Army on January 25, 1955.
PVT Gartzke was working at Park Coffee Company in Barrington as a line feeder when he died suddenly on March 21, 1988; he is buried in Evergreen Cemetery with his son.
