David Peter Chuboff was born October 17, 1925 in Union City, New Jersey to Peter and Lydia Schadwinkl Chuboff.

Chuboff entered service for World War II on February 19, 1944 with the U.S. Navy, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps on August 5, 1946.

After graduating from Rutgers University, he began his career as industrial designer and product planner in 1949, and joined Servel, Inc., a manufacturer of household and commercial refrigerators, gas water heaters, and air conditioning units, in Evansville, Indiana the following year.

On April 25, 1953, he married Marilyn Ruth Lockyear in Evansville IN; they raised three children in Mt. Prospect and North Barrington.

In 1955, Chuboff left Servel, and moved his growing family to the Chicago suburbs, where he joined Mel-Boldt and Associates, a leading product development and industrial design firm of mid-century consumer products. He became President of Mel Boldt and Associates, and held many design patents.

CPL David Chuboff died September 16, 1987 in Barrington, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
