George S. Breitmayer, Jr.

George Stark Breitmayer Jr. was born June 13, 1922 in Jackson, Michigan, to George and Charlotte Reese Breitmayer.
After his high school graduation, he worked in Lakewood, Ohio for Cleveland Electric Motor Company.
On October 28, 1942, he entered the service of the U.S. Army as a Private and was stationed in England during WWII, serving in the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). The OSS had primary functions to gather and analyze strategic intelligence and conduct special operations, including sabotage, espionage, and supporting guerrilla resistance, in coordination with the military. OSS was the precursor of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
Following his honorable discharge, Breitmayer married Janet Ellen Bates in Lakewood, Ohio on February 9, 1946; they raised two children.
He received an Engineering degree from Michigan State University in 1949, and worked as a Chemical Engineer capacity for Procter & Gamble in Chicago for 34 years. Breitmayer and his wife retired to Sarasota, Florida after his retirement.
Veteran George S. Breitmayer died Nov. 06, 2010 in Sarasota, Florida, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
