SGT Thomas H. Stewart

Thomas Lloyd Hill was born June 30, 1930 in Richmond, Indiana, to John and Naomi Dunn Hill. When both parents died in 1934, he was adopted by Ross and Hazel Stewart.
On December 27, 1951, Stewart married Ann Schoenholtz in Connersville, Indiana; they raised three children.
He graduated from Indiana University in 1952 with a B.S. in Insurance.
Stewart entered military service for the Korean War on October 15, 1952. He served in the Army Geospatial Center (AGC), a subordinate command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers that provides geospatial information, capabilities, and expertise to the Army and the nation. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant on October 13, 1954.
Stewart was Insurance Counsel for Stewart and Associates.
He was active in fundraising for Northwest Suburban Boy Scout Council and for Community Appeal (now United Way). He also participated as an activist for Illinois judicial reform.
SGT Thomas Stewart died in Elgin on October 19, 1973; he is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
