PFC Albin G. Herrlin

Albin Gustav Herrlin was born in Chicago on March 27, 1897, to August and Ida Anderson Herrlin.
On May 1, 1918, Herrlin married Anna Cincotta in Chicago before he shipped out to war; when he returned, they raised a child.
Herrlin enlisted on July 25, 1917, and served in World War I with Battery D, 122 Field Artillery. He returned from France May 16, 1919 as a PFC.
He had a varied career, from clerical employee to proprietor of a tailor shop.
In the early 1950’s, Herrlin married Bernice Brown, and raised a child with her. He found a calling as a locksmith, working for A and B Lock Service in Lake Zurich.
PFC Albin Herrlin died January 6, 1972 in Libertyville, and is buried with his family in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
