Eldon Hugh Bills was born April 15, 1919 in Noble County, Indiana, to Arthur and Rosa Mae Eisaman Bills.
On February 11, 1942, he entered World War II the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged as a Corporal on November 26, 1945.
Three months after his enlistment, Bills married Bernice Popp of Barrington on April 11, 1942 in Little Rock, Arkansas, when he was station at Camp Robinson; they raised seven children.
Bills was employed by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad as a Crossing Watchman and Car Checker, and later by the Village of Barrington.
CPL Eldon Bills died April 24, 1969 at Hines VA Hospital, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
