PVT William G. Grashorn

William George Grashorn was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Paw Paw, Michigan, to Lester and Mary Fuchs Grashorn.  

After graduating from Central High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Grashorn spent 9 months in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was honorably discharged on December 1, 1945 with the rank of Private, and went on to earn a degree from Northwestern University School of Business. 

On June 18, 1949, Grashorn married Gail Brookman in Cook County; they raised four children in Arlington Heights.

Grashorn retired after a long career in business management.  He was active in Scouting and enjoyed square dancing. He was also an avid reader, sailor, and mandolin player. 

PVT William Grashorn passed away December 4, 2007, in Arlington Heights, and is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
