Lester Adolph Grashorn was born May 6, 1928 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Lester and Mary Fuchs Grashorn.

In June, 1946, Grashorn entered military service as soon as he graduated from Sheboygan’s Central High School. He served on the USS  Macon, and was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class on April 21, 1948.

Following his discharge, he attended Northwestern University, and earned a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity there. 

Grashorn married Diane Powell; they raised three children. 

Professionally, Grashorn an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance.

Seaman Lester Grashorn died at his Palatine home on February 11, 1968, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
