William Lawrence Kidd, Jr. was born in Chicago on March 8, 1930, to William and Mae Happli Kidd.
Kidd attended Illinois Wesleyan College, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, and graduated in February, 1953. He entered the U.S. Army the following month, served at Ft. Lewis, Washington, and was honorably discharged on March 29, 1955.
Kidd married his college sweetheart, Jane Fager, on June 12, 1954 in Easton, Illinois; they raised three children in the Chicago suburbs. Professionally, he was a career salesman for several construction materials companies.
William Kidd died on September 12, 1997 in his West Chicago home. He rests in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
