CPL Spencer U. Boehmer

Spencer Udel Boehmer was born September 8, 1895, in Barrington, to Henry and Louisa Meyer Boehmer.
Boehmer was a Veteran of World War I, where he served two years in the 33rd Division, 122nd Field Artillery, Battery B, which participated in the Battles at St. Mihiel, Meuse-Argonne, and Lorraine. He was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action against the enemy, and was honorably discharged in June, 1919, as a Corporal.
On June 9, 1923, he married Helen Knight in Chicago; they raised two children in Lombard and Glen Ellyn.
Boehmer made his living as a manager in the chemical industry.
CPL Spencer Boehmer died December 26, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama. He is buried with his wife and other family members in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
