PFC Carleton A. Beckhart

Carleton Allen Beckhart was born February 5, 1902 in Monticello, Illinois, to Henry and Ada Coon Beckhart.
Beckhart enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 6, 1923, and was assigned to Company K, 3rd Infantry; he was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on March 20, 1925.
After his military duty, he married Florence Stover in DeKalb County on May 11, 1932; they raised three children in Barrington.
Beckhart became an ornithologist and managed the Brightland Farm wildlife refuge for water fowl near Barrington.
PFC Carleton Beckhart died March 15, 1961, in Barrington. He is buried with his wife and son in Evergreen Cemetery.
