George Linden Haggard was born May 10, 1910 in Farmer City, Illinois, to Edwin C. and Pearl Daisy Campbell Haggard.

Haggard graduated from University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s degree in 1933, and continued Law School there. He received his LL.B. in 1935, and joined the firm Kirkland, Fleming and Green as an attorney.

On June 6, 1937, Haggard married Agnes Symmes in Valparaiso, Indiana; they raised four children in Deerfield and Barrington.

He served as a Lieutenant in the activated U.S. Naval Reserve force from March 25, 1944 until his honorable discharge on March 2, 1946.

In 1950, Haggard became a partner at of Kirkland, Fleming, Green, Martin, and Ellis, specializing in probate work.

Lieutenant George Haggard died of a heart attack on December 12, 1957, while speaking at a Lake County Zoning Board meeting. He is buried at Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
