William Earl Dunn was born October 31, 1900 in Cary, to John and Elizabeth McGraw Dunn.

On August 21, 1942 he married Elizabeth Kirby in Arlington Heights; they raised three children in Barrington.

Dunn joined the World War II troops in November, and served as a Private in the 4th Replacement Depot of the U.S. Army Air Force which trained replacements for combat units. He was honorably discharged  March 12, 1943.

Dunn worked for Chicago and Northwestern Railway in the passenger department for 45 years, and was a member of the Barrington American Legion post.

Private William Dunn died May 28, 1964 in Niles. He is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery with his wife and parents.
