PVT Herman A. Kornatz

Herman Arnold “Herm” Kornatz was born in Chicago, on April 27, 1939 to Herman and Genevieve Kornatz.
Kornatz graduated from Taft High School, then served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Private in the Marine Air Combat Division in 1958.
In 1961, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bradley University, and shortly afterward, married Carolyn Back; they raised one child.
Kornatz became well known as an expert in U.S. taxes, serving as VP of Finance at Data One until his retirement. He and his wife enjoyed traveling the world, and in 1991, they relocated to British Columbia. During decades of cancer treatment, he showed amazing strength, patience and bravery.
Private Herman Kornatz died in North Saanich, British Columbia, on December 6, 2019. He is buried with his parents in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
