Thomas Miller Turner was born in Berwyn on September 29, 1937, to Guilford S. and Elin Miller Turner.
Turner enlisted in the U.S. Navy on July 7, 1958, and served in Naval Special Forces during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on June 26, 1964.
He was married twice and had three children.
Turner owned Gage Calibration in Schaumburg, working in the business for about 25 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed scuba diving in the Florida Keys, playing the bluegrass banjo, and collecting antique motorcycles.
Seaman Thomas Turner died August 20, 1998 in Schaumburg, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
