PVT Frank O. Hegner

Frank Oldrich Hegner was born in Chicago on February 20, 1894 to Frank and Anna Kapsova Hegner.
Hegner enlisted for service in World War I on May 3, 1918 and served in Company L, 56th Infantry in the Meuse-Argonne campaign. On January 20, 1919, he was honorably discharged as a Private.
Hegner married Helen Voss in Chicago on December 5, 1923; they raised 4 children.
He made his profession in the financial and commodities markets, starting as a broker at the Board of Trade, advancing to brokerage house manager, eventually trading as a grain broker.
Private Frank Hegner passed away on Dec 18, 1974; he is buried with other family members in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
