PFC Robert L. Laine

Robert Linton Laine was born in Barrington on October 11, 1930, to Arthur C. and Lilian Radke Laine.
He graduated with from Barrington High School with its first graduating class in 1948.
Laine enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 24, 1951, and was honorably discharged April 20, 1954. He served in the 491st Quartermaster Petroleum Depot Company during the Korean War, where he attained the rank of Private First Class.
PFC Robert Laine died in Libertyville’s Condell Medical Center on December 11, 1955, from injuries sustained the day prior in an automobile accident. He is buried with his parents in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
