Arthur C. Laine

Arthur Clifford Laine was born August 27, 1895 in McDonald, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Augusta Voss Laine.

Laine volunteered June 15, 1917 for U.S. Army Service in World War I, and was assigned to the 47th Aero Squadron. Aero Squadrons were the designation of the first United States Army aviation units until the end of World War I. These units consisted of combat flying, training, ground support, construction and other components of the Air Service.  He was honorably discharged on May 16, 1919.

In Detroit, On November 17, 1921, Laine married Lilian Radke from Barrington; they raised four children.

Lain made a career in Barrington as an electrician, and worked for the Public Utility Company for many years as an electrician and mechanic.

He died March 30, 1957 in Chicago, and is buried with his wife and son at Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
