PVT Maurice R. Magill

Maurice Russell Magill was born December 21, 1896, in Columbia City, Indiana, to Ellis and Ella Magill.

Magill served as a Private in World War I in Company D, 2nd Regiment Illinois Infantry.

On December 31, 1931, he married Mrs. Eva Isom Wilkins in Elgin; they had one son.

He located his family in Grayslake, where he farmed, worked at an auction house, and later, worked as a herdsman at the Spinney Run Dairy Farm.

Private Maurice Magill died in an automobile accident on November 7, 1953, near Grayslake. He is buried with his wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
