James Richard “Jim” Ledinsky was born to James and Clara Alderman Ledinsky on January 19, 1937, in Grand Haven, Michigan.
He graduated from Grand Haven High School, then Michigan State University in 1959. After college, he entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Office of Special Investigation during the Vietnam War. After 4 years of service, he returned to Michigan State to get his MBA.
In 1965, Ledinsky married Barbara E. Kjellgren; they raised three children together.
He had a fulfilling career in banking and investment banking at the National Bank of Detroit, AG Becker in Chicago, and Morgan Stanley in New York. After retiring, he took a role as guest faculty at the MSU Business School, then a clinical Professor of Finance, and a Managing Director of the Hawkinson Institute at the University of Iowa. He was also an expert witness, and Chairman of the Guadalupe Center in Immokalee, Florida.
Ledinsky had true love for all things Michigan State, for mentoring young people, and for playing tennis and golf.
James Richard Ledinsky passed away on August 15, 2023 in Naples, Florida, and is buried in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
