Theodore George “Ted” Koerner, III, was born in Chicago on July 7, 1932, the son of Theodore George Koerner, Jr. and Claire Overheu.

He was a 1954 graduate of Princeton University with a degree in History. After attending University of Michigan Law School for one year, he left to enlist in the United States Army. He proudly served as a Commissioned Officer in Korea for 2 years – and in the Army Reserves afterward - then returned to the University of Michigan to complete his Juris Doctor of Law. Koerner practiced Real Estate Law, Trust Law, and Tax Law at Koerner & Koerner Real Estate and as a sole proprietor.

Koerner met his wife, Donalda “Donnie” McLeod Anderson, through activities in the Barrington Area real estate community, and he married her shortly after meeting.

Koerner enjoyed gardening and hosting joyous family events; he was a wonderful cook, whose meals rivaled the best restaurants. He loved politics, movies, books, New York Times Crossword Puzzles, sharing time with family and friends.

Captain Theodore G. Koerner, III, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, in Barrington. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery there.
