PVT Ira D. Elfrink

Ira Daniel Elfrink was born November 16, 1890 on a farm near Palatine to Lewis L. and Kathryn Augenstein Elfrink.
He served as a Private in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps during World War I, and was honorably discharged on December 19, 1918.
Elfrink married Edna Kampert of Barrington on April 11, 1924, in Waukegan. The couple settled in Barrington where they lived the rest of their lives.
He was occupied professionally by Schroeder’s Hardware as a plumber, sheet metal worker, and heating installation engineer. His hobbies included photography and electric trains.
Private Ira Elfrink passed on July 12, 1952, and is buried with his family in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
