Edward Albert Schiewe was born on May 13, 1897 in to Albert and Ida (Jannusch) Schiewe.

He enlisted for the U.S. Navy on May 27, 1918, and served until September 30, 1921.

Schiewe married Alice V. Johnson in Chicago in 1927; they raised two children.

Professionally, Schiewe was an architect for Swift & Company for 50 years. He held at least 2 patents.

Edward A. Schiewe, Sr. died February 15, 1985, in Barrington; he is buried with his wife in Evergreen Cemetery.
