William F. Rogers

William F. Rogers was born December 12, 1830 in New York.

He married Elizabeth F. Skinner in Rensselersville, New York in 1854; they had one daughter.

The couple moved to Cuba Township shortly after their marriage, where Rogers farmed and worked as a mechanic and a mason.

Rogers was recruited into Company C, 2nd Illinois Light Artillery on September 28, 1864, and mustered out on August 3, 1865; the Company performed Garrison duty at Fort Donelson and Clarksville, Tennessee.

The family lived in Detroit for several years, where Rogers as a laborer, then returned to Barrington.  

William Rogers died on October 30, 1891; he is buried in Evergreen Cemetery with his wife.
