Christopher Dickinson was born March 9, 1834, in Vermont, to Elijah and Olive (Packard) Dickinson.
He relocated to Minnesota and was married to Sarah Richardson; they had one child.
In November, 1864, Dickinson, a farmer, was drafted the Union army as a Private in Company D, 1st Minnesota Heavy Artillery; he served in the rank of Private until August 17, 1865.
Before 1875, the family relocated to Barrington, where Dickinson was a retail druggist.
Private Christopher Dickinson died March 6, 1887, in Barrington; he is buried with his wife at Evergreen Cemetery.
