Robert Francis Collins was born in Chicago on October 3, 1920, to Julian B. and Carolyn Schauble Collins.
Collins married Evangeline M. Mountain in 1942 in Barrington; they raised 3 children.
He obtained a bachelor's degree in business in 1943 at DePaul University, Chicago. Shortly after, he served as a U.S. Army Air Corps B-24 bomber pilot in Europe.
When Collins retired in 1980 as a medical products researcher for Kendall Research Company, he held 29 U.S. patents and 5 international patents on disposable products for medical and personal use.
Robert F. Collins passed away on June 11, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. He is buried at Evergreen Cemetery with his wife and parents.
