PVT William Stone

William Stone was born April 17, 1888, near the Finland-Russia border, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1905.

He enlisted for service on May 27, 1918, and was honorably discharged from Company B, 106th Engineers on July 14, 1919 after serving in France as a Private.

Stone never married, and was a barber in Barrington for 30 years.

Private William Stone died November 30, 1944, at the Hines VA Hospital in Cook County. He rests in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
