Rocco Anthony Macri was born on April 12, 1932 in Canton, Ohio to Angelo Ferruccio and Mary Rocco Macri.  

Macri graduated from Lehman High School in Canton, Ohio, where he excelled academically and athletically. He then attended Ohio University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in commerce in 1954.

After graduation, he served two years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a Second Lieutenant.

He first married Marilyn "Wendy" Wendel; they raised two daughters. He later married Judy Miller.

Macri joined GE Capital in 1960, holding management positions in Ohio and New York, then Department President and General Manager of GE Capital Leasing in Barrington, IL. Under his guidance, GE Capital Leasing became the largest auto leasing business in the world.

In 1981, Macri joined Associates First Capital as Executive Vice President of its Commercial Loan, Factoring and Acquisition Division. He relocated to Dallas, Texas where he retired as Group President and General Manager in 1998 after 17 years of service.

Throughout his life Macri was a gifted athlete and loved sports. He played basketball into his seventies for the Dallas Rams and competed in five National Senior Olympics.

Second Lieutenant Rocco A. Macri passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023, at home in Barrington, and now rests in Evergreen Cemetery.
