Harold Alvin “Kemp” Kempema was born June 8, 1932 in Rock Valley, Iowa, to Henry and Antonia (VandeWeerd) Kempema.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, Kempema made his home in Illinois.

He married his first wife Nancy Wahl on Aug 25, 1956; they had three children. After his wife’s death, he moved to Arizona where he met and married Donna Husman Powell.

Kempema was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Bears.

Staff Sergeant Harold Kempema died January 2, 2016 in Prescott, Arizona; he is buried with his first wife in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
