Willard Marshall Watson was born on October 22, 1894, in McDonough County, Illinois, to John and Elizabeth (Allison) Watson.

He married Ruth Lenore Barclay in 1920, with whom he raised three children.

After serving in the armed forces in WWI, Mr. Watson became a schoolteacher in his native Macomb, and later moved to Barrington where he taught at old Hough School.

When Barrington High School opened in 1949, Mr. Watson was appointed head of the Biology Department. In 1959, he received the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Award for outstanding service in teaching youth leadership.

Watson died on July 13, 1991, in Schaumburg. He rests with his wife and sons in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
