Michael Francis Maude was born in Chicago, on January 11, 1929, to Joseph and Mary Ann (Ridge) Maude.
He graduated from Lane Tech High School, then attended Lewis University.
Following his military service in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1952, he married Rosemary Agnes Bremner on June 5, 1953. They raised four sons and three daughters.
Maude graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1954 with a degree in Civil Engineering. As an entrepreneur, he founded Patterson Construction Company (50 years), Maude Environmental, Illini Consulting Group, Maude Development, LLC. He also participated in Chicago Asphalt, Sheffield Tank, American Electric, Reeds Candy Company, and River Front Chrysler Dealership. He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Knight of Columbus.
He was a co-founder of the Michael Joseph Foundation which provided temporary housing for 700 families, and provided scholarships for high school students.
Michael F. Maude died on March 10, 2014, and rests with his wife at Evergreen Cemetery.
