Joseph Anthony Bulgarelli was born on September 29, 1933, in Chicago, to Louis and Mary Bulgarelli.

After he graduated from Holy Trinity High School, he joined the Army to serve his country in the Korean Conflict. He continued his studies at Illinois Institute of Technology upon his return.

Bulgarelli married Cynthia Wetterman on February 2, 1958; together they raised four sons.

An entrepreneur and "people person," he bought and developed several car service businesses followed by True Value, Ace Hardware stores and Midas Auto shops. His enthusiasm and friendliness made his business special, and he developed a loyal patronage.

Joe Bulgarelli died on February 1, 2018, and rests in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
