Richard A. Sachtschale
1935 – 2023

Richard Addison “Dick” Sachtschale was born on March 25, 1935, in Beaumont, Texas, to Richard and Alice (Trefelner) Sachtschale.  The family was in Illinois by 1940, and Sachtschale graduated from Maine Township High School in Park Ridge in 1953.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Reserves.

In 1959, he married Kathleen M. Walsh; they raised five children.

As an architect, he spent most of his career designing skyscrapers along the magnificent Chicago skyline.

Richard Sachtschale passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023, and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
