COX Robert A. Moeller

Robert Anton Moeller was born on August 31, 1924, in Chicago, to Walter F. and Anna (Andreasen) Moeller.


In 1946, he was discharged from three years’ service in the U.S. Navy. He attained the rank of Coxwain, the senior non-commissioned officer on board, responsible for routine and discipline.


He attended the University of Illinois after the war.


Moeller married Carol J. Norris on August 16, 1947; they raised three children.


He made his living as an insurance agent; he was active in VFW, a past President of the Rotary Club and past Master of the Lounsbury Lodge.


Coxswain Moeller died on September 27, 1996, in Barrington, and rests in Evergreen Cemetery with his wife and other family members, including his brother Walter, who was also a WWII Veteran.
