PVT Clarence E. Catlow

Clarence Edward Catlow was born in Barrington, on August 18, 1893, to John E. and Emma (Johnson) Catlow.
He grew up in Barrington, and was employed for seven years as a locomotive fireman for the Northwestern Railway.
Catlow entered the service of his country in October, 1917, and was assigned to Headquarters Company, 127th Infantry, 32nd Division. He was in France for nine months when he was reported as missing on October 16, 1918.

Private Clarence E. Catlow made the supreme sacrifice on the battlefields of France, and was officially announced among those killed on October 16, 1918 in a telegram 9 weeks later. His grave lies with his family in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
