Leonard Raymond Capulli was born in Barrington on February 13, 1920, to Romeo and Della (Capparelli) Capulli.

He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and attained the rank of Private First Class.

Capulli made his career in retail purchasing and merchandising, joining Marshall Field & Company in 1946, and rising to become Vice President of Home Furnishings.

PFC Leonard Capulli lived in the Sarasota, Florida area after his retirement, and died there May 4, 1994. He is buried with his parents and family members in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
