SP4 Richard J. Bentley

1937 – 1985

Richard Joseph Bentley was born in Waukegan on October 17, 1937, to Frank E. and Thelma (Strobach) Bentley.

 

Bentley enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school and served at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, in the Engineering Regiment, attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class before his discharge.

 

Following his military service, Bentley worked in automotive repair, owned a tavern in Burton’s Bridge and the Coach Inn in Ogema, WI.

 

He married Jo Ann Magera in 1975; they had two children.

 

Spec4 Richard Bentley died February 15, 1985, at his home in Ogema, Wisconsin, and rests with his parents at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
