William Michael “Red” Logue was born in Chicago on May 26, 1928, to Joseph and Eleanor (Forrester) Logue.
He was a graduate of St. George High School in Evanston and Loyola University in Chicago.
Logue proudly served in the Korean War and was decorated for his service with a Bronze Star, the CIB and the United Nations Service Medal.
He married Norma Jeanne Kelly on May 23, 1953 in Chicago; together they raised three sons and two daughters in Barrington.
Logue was a self-made man and a true entrepreneur. He started his first business from the trunk of his car when he founded Logue Expansion Bolt Co., Inc. in 1957. He also founded Logue Construction Company and acquired Brock Tool Co., Inc. He developed Mariners Village and Marina in Seneca, Illinois. While he was successful in all his endeavors, his real passion was his farm, Diamond L Farms in Brooker, Florida, where he bred thoroughbred horses that raced successfully all over the country.
He was a man of his word, and a handshake was as good as a contract. He had a remarkable sense of humor, and was extremely generous.
Veteran “Red” Logue passed away on March 7, 2009 in Brooker, Florida; he rests in Evergreen Cemetery with his wife.
