Lawrence Wayne Olson was born on November 23, 1945, in Evanston, Illinois to Raymond and Arvilla (Bergstrom) Olson.

He married Delores McGovern in 1968. They raised three children in Barrington.

Olson was a Marine Corps Veteran who went on to success in computer programming and computer software development. Using these skills, he started several businesses including List Processing Company which was purchased by Pitney Bowes. He also served on the Board of Directors for American Chartered Bank before its acquisition by MB Financial Bank. Olson is listed among the inventors on 5 different patents between 2009 and 2019.

He was a passionate Chicago sports fan and an avid golfer, admired for his integrity and sound business sense.

Marine Corps Veteran Lawrence “Larry” Olson passed away peacefully at his home on July 18, 2021, and rests at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
