John B. Siewers, Jr.

John Brandt Siewers, Jr. was born in Chicago, on October 16, 1933, to John B. and Mary (Byrne) Siewers.

Siewers graduated from Fenwick High School, and earned a Mathematics degree from St. Mary’s University of Winnona, Minnesota in 1955. He was a proud US Navy Veteran having served as a Naval Intelligence Officer stationed in Japan.

Lt. Siewers married Rosemary Carmody on October 31, 1959, in Chicago. They raised two sons and a daughter, while enjoying travel through 48 states and abroad.

He pursued a career with CNA Insurance, holding the title of Senior Vice President, Special Risks Division, when he retired at more than 40 years of service.

Siewers loved sports, history and mystery books, and playing golf. He was notorious for his deep discussions of history and politics. He often regaled friends and family with his warm, humorous and sharp-witted story telling.

Lt. John B. Siewers, Jr. passed away peacefully on October 30, 2017. He rests forever with his wife at Evergreen Cemetery.
