Timothy Jude Heidkamp was born on March 3, 1955 in Ft. Benjamin, Indiana, to George L. and Alice O’Connor Heidkamp.

Heidkamp was a 1973 graduate of Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, and a 1977 NROTC graduate of University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.  While serving in the U.S. Navy, he lived in California and Hawaii. He later transferred to the U.S. Marine Corps where he rose to the rank of Major.

In 1986, he married Jane Kendall in Berkshire, Great Britain; they had three children.

Major Timothy Heidkamp died Oct 8, 1993, and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington.
