Philip Brandin Brugge was born September 4, 1920 in Chautauqua, New York, to Erich and Lilian Brandin Brugge.
After graduating from the US Naval Academy, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from June 19, 1942 until April 1, 1947, when he was discharged as a Lieutenant Commander.
Brugge went on to earn a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1950.
On June 14, 1949, he married Olive Saethre in Cook County, Minnesota; they raised five children.
He worked for R. R. Donnally, and was a member of American Legion Post 158 and several professional organizations.
LCDR Philip Brugge died June 22, 1980 in Park Ridge; he is buried with his wife (also a Veteran) in Barrington’s Evergreen Cemetery.
